About Swiss Internet Radio
Swiss Internet Radio, also known as RadioCrazy Classical & Jazz in Berlin, was started on August 2, 2002. It was based on the historical record collection of Swiss music historian Carl Flisch-Aghayan. Originally, RadioCrazy had a complete program channel that was controlled in Dortmund and operated from Berlin. Due to the growing number of RadioCrazy Jazz listeners, the entire program was discontinued in the autumn of 2005. Following the increase in costs by the GEMA and GVL for radio stations who broadcast their programming over the internet, RadioCrazy Classical & Jazz opted to broadcast from Switzerland.
On August 24, 2004, the Swiss Internet Radio Association (IG Schweizer Internetradio) lay its cornerstone. The user organization now represents the interests of amateur broadcasters in Switzerland and Liechtenstein. In December 2009, Public Domain Radio began regular radio broadcasts for the Swiss Foundation Public Domain. Carl Flisch-Aghayan ended his involvement with his foundation in late 2019 and established a new organization.
