About Radio SRF 2 Kultur
Radio SRF 2 Kultur is Switzerland’s FM radio station focused on the soul and hip-hop genres. They use 450 watts of electricity to transmit all day and night. The Radio SRF 2 Kultur transmitter and antenna are located on top of #7 Evergreen Place in Osborne Village. The station broadcasts 24 hours a day, seven days a week, with all programming done by volunteers. Radio SRF 2 Kultur’s website address is drs.ch.
Arthur Godel was the program manager for DRS 2 until 2008. He was followed by Marco Meier, a cultural journalist, from March 1, 2008 to December 31, 2010. As part of the merging of Radio DRS and Swiss Television to become SRF, DRS 2 will become part of SRF's new cultural department on January 1, 2011. The station will be renamed Radio SRF 2 Kultur on December 16, 2012. Marco Meier will leave at the end of 2010 as part of the combination of radio and television. Franziska Baetcke, the previous director of cultural news, will succeed him as DRS 2's program manager.
